In late August, early September of 2021, Hurricane Ida devastated the Gulf region — and our hearts are with those who have lost so much. While those hardest hit focus on rebuilding, we are fortunate that our communities around Memphis sustained minimal damage as Ida was downgraded to a tropical storm (maximum sustained winds of 38 mph or less) by the time it reached the area.

Our parent company, Meridian Pacific Properties, and Meridian Property Management take such weather events seriously. We are always looking for ways to mitigate risk for our tenants and investors. It is a process that begins long before we break ground.

Being that hurricanes gain strength from the ocean, this land gap helps to dissipate its power by the time it hits the Memphis area.
